After successfully acquiring, then breathing new life into a closed down pub ‘The Clifton Inn, Rugby’ in 2016, property developers Nirad & his wife Payal Solanki saw a way to combine their love of beer with their existing business. Through trial, error and a little bit of help from their friends amongst the brewing community – ‘Elmesthorpe Brewery co’ was born. The first official ale was brewed and enjoyed by the regulars at their pub - a different variety of ales have been brewed since.

Moving forward with the winning combination, Nirad & Payal went on to purchase and rejuvenate several more sites. With a view to save the pubs from the axe – many of these are now mixed residential & public houses combined.

Even with the challenges faced since 2020, the story doesn’t end there! Today, Elmesthorpe Brewery Co currently operates five sites in it's vast property portfolio (even two sites in Prague!).
